Building an underground garden
I prefer Underground Gardens to above ground, just for the matter of protection. You don't have to worry about any mob attacking you while you are planting, and you don't have to worry about them blowing it up.
In this garden, I think it is 7 high (from bottom of my feet) and 20 blocks length and around 15 width.
After you mine all of the blocks, you should have a great stock pile of cobblestone and other ore/resources.
You want to go on the very far side. Put dirt on the outside of the garden to stake it out. You can have a bigger garden or a smaller, this one isn't that big, but it should be plenty.
I left the end with no dirt, so when I'm collecting the seeds and plants it will flow down and be waiting for me to collect. You could also put it all in a certain area to collect, but I chose not to.
(Above) is what the back of the risen part of the garden looks like, just build it like stairs.
I put some cobblestone to cover where the water streams start, just to make it look a little bit nicer.
Then, I put more lights up, because plants need tons of light to make it seem like the sun.
I added cobblestone slabs so I can easily jump on the garden without messing it up, and I also added more light. You can tell how bright it is now.
This is what it looks like now, you could spice it up, but I wanted something pretty basic. Make sure you have plenty of candles (light) to make it bright, and eventually I'll have enough seeds to have my own garden (probably wheat).
I hope you enjoy this and if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask!
Thanks.
Unlimited Water
Are you building something that needs water, but you are getting tired of walking back out of your area to fetch water? If you are, this guide is for you! Here is an example of what you are going to build.
Items needed:
- 12 Cobblestone
- 20 Cobblestone slabs
- Bucket (It's easier if you have more than one, but one will work)
- Water
Put Cobblestone around a 2 X 2 area.
x = cobblestone
o = empty

Next, place 20 cobblestone slabs on all sides of the cobblestone so you can easily reach the water.
Now is the time to go get your buckets full of water.
Place the first bucket in the top right corner (where the "1" is). This will give you a current.
The second bucket is to prevent the current. Place the second bucket full of water in the bottom left side, or where ever the corner is flowing into.
After you do that, you should have an unlimited supply of water. I hope you enjoy!
